Kusadasi
Kusadasi is one principle holiday resorts in Turkey, it can offer an excellent environment for an unforgettable holiday. Kusadasi is situated on the west of Turkey- 90km south of beautiful Izmir, it is known as one of the most attractive town of the Aegean, as it is near the important historical sites: Miletos, Ephesus, Priene, Didyma - the principals of ancient times - ideal for sightseers.
This seaside resort city has grown in the last thirty years, and it is especially popular with Europe's package holiday-makers. From a population of more than 7000 in the 1980s, it is now closer to 50,000, though a high proportion of that are part of the tourist industry and in Kusadasi only for the summer. Most of cruising ships traveling around the famous Aegean Islands stop here, especially because of Kusadasi's close proximity (twenty km) to Selcuk. It is a good base to see this and other ancient cities for example Priene and Didyma.
Though here is not much of historical interest in Kusadasi itself, this city is popular predominantly because of its large hotels, restaurants, nice souvenir and carpet shops, and bright nightlife. The Kale district has many old traditional houses and narrow roads, and it gives some indication of what the city used to be like. One of the most famous beaches is Kadinlar Plaji, 3 km south of the city, dominated by big hotels and can get very crowded during summer time. There are also several small beaches further south, and near to town is Yilanci Burnu, the famous peninsular.
