Istanbul

Istanbul nowadays is a commercial and cultural centre. In its south stretches famous Marmara Sea and in its north is Black Sea. Istanbul's west part is located in Europe and the east part - in Asia. The waterline Bosphorus divides Istanbul into two. The only alternative to reach the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful Aegean Sea and so to open sea is to use the Bosphorus and Istanbul.

Istanbul is the nearest European city to Asia and also the nearest Asian city to Europe. What adds to its significance is Istanbul's being a huge port city and all great trade paths' passing through it for thousands of years

Another important thing of Istanbul is that that city has a highly sheltered structure. And especially the center that is presently called as the "historical peninsula", that was made capital city by Byzantine and Ottoman Empires and Istanbul's being located on a hill and surrounded by 3 seas that made it almost impossible to be conquered

Although thousands of years have passed, this powerful city still maintains its geographical importance. Nowadays Istanbul is a huge metropolis that connects continents, cultures, religions and proposes home to 11 million people. And also Istanbul is one of the biggest business and cultural center of that region
